In summer the Sutherland sky is quite astonishing and in winter, temperatures drop well below zero and snowfall is expected!
Sutherland is situated about 320km from Cape Town. (about a 4 hour drive). It is know that Sutherland temperatures drop well below zero in winter.
Sutherland is known for its simplicity, yet amazing sky line. SALT(South Africa Large Telescope) is the 2nd largest in the world and tours to the telescope can be arranged.
Sutherland is like a little monopoly town, with one hotel, one bank, one church etc. Only one road(main rd) is tarred. Furthermore the people are fabulously friendly. You can get the best fresh meats in Sutherland. Laser stargazing can also be arranged! Local restaurants will dish up the best lamb shanks and rump steaks that you had in a long time.
The house is ideal for that getaway to catch up on some reading, writing or total relaxation.
The house contains of 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. One upstairs and one downstairs. Downstairs there is a bedroom with a double bed and on-suite bathroom; a dining area; kitchen and big braai inside and outside. The kitchen has a fridge, small gas stove, microwave, and all cutlery & crockery you might need. Upstairs is a loft which is accessible via stairs inside the house or outside of the house. There you will find a bedroom with a very modern open plan bathroom with a Victorian bath, a separate toilet and a small lounge area.
